Battleship - The Review

‘Battleship’ is an epic action-adventure movie and the ideas were based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game. The movie directed by ‘Hancock’ fame, Peter Berg. The story were written by Joe Hoeber and Erich Hoeber and the lead roles played by Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul, Alexander Skarsgard as Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson and Hopper’s older brother, Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hoppers fiancée, Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Liam Neeson as Admiral Shane and Sam’s father and Tadanobu Asano. The Director of Photography was Tobias A. Scliessler and music scores by Steve Jablonsky. ‘Battleship’ distributed by Universal Pictures.
The story is about the survival against a superior force which came from another planet similar to earth which discovered by NASA. The battle begins on the sea between the superior force and the trainee naval force; undergoing multinational naval exercise called RIMPAC. The screenplay was very impressive by running a bit fast screenplay which support to increase the thrilling and suspense of the movie. But still got some incomplete sequences or scenes in the movie; the director failed to give complete description to the alien ship which crashes in Hong Kong. Other than that, the story ended without showing an end to the aliens which landed in earth for the satellite transmission;  the RIMPAC force successfully destroy alien’s ships but not  all the aliens especially the alien soldiers landed in Oahu to modify NASA’s satellite to signal their home planet.
At the post-production site, the films Editor Colby Parker Jr. and Billy Rich had done a good job by providing good screenplay which created hopes and suspense. The total duration of the film is 131 minutes; contain were compact until cant realize the running time of the movie. Another site of post-production, the visual effects team had done an extraordinary job. Visual-Effects are provided by well-known studio, Industrial Lights and Magic (ILM) and the Visual-Effects supervisor of the movie were Grady Cofer from ILM. The team had applied many types of visual-effects in ‘Battleship’, such as matte painting, computer- generated subjects (CG), animatronics and few more.
The movie is running successfully in all cinemas around the world. ‘Battleship’ is also been as first entry of famous pop singer Rihanna to the cine world. At last, a good entertainment movie had been revealed by a wonderful team.
