Maravan Review

Official Poster

Maravan is a Malaysian Tamil film scripted and Directed by SD Puvanendran and the original story were written by Chandru ‘ The Keys’. The film is also were produced by the story writer. Maravan is a story about a family man who very much responsible over his family as a husband and a father for two kids. He has an ambition to get a luxury life for his family and his children’s future but he can’t effort to make such a lifestyle with his earning as a rubber farmer. What’s happening to him after he chooses to go on shortcut to make easy money to achieve the lifestyle he dreamed is the story all about.

Director SD Puvanendran has scripted the story well without unnecessary dialogues and scenes. The whole concept was produced by Chandru ‘The Keys’. Even though the plot is bit familiar with current film trend which is organ smuggling but the way the story were presented on screen make the film very much fresh and not boring. In case of screenplay, there were two stories were moving together; one is the smuggling activities and another one is achieving in agriculture. It’s understandable that the story trying to portray how well is to go on agriculture rather than smuggling activities to achieve in life but the bridge between the two plots is not strong enough; the screenplay was like a direct comparison and at the end the agriculture does not link with smuggling as a solution for a tragedy. Otherwise, the overall screenplay is interesting and able to keep the audience’s attention until the end. Short romantic and humour scenes are good support for the story.

On the technical side, camera was handled by Raja Vatchalam from Chennai. The visuals and lighting are two big plus for Maravan. It’s also notable the film was shoot with Red camera which provides rich footages in color and depth.  The blue yellow lighting for night and thrilling scenes are very much creditable and make the film outstanding among local Tamil films. The visuals are well planned according to the scene’s temperature and it's impotence. On the editing part, Anand Geraldin was provided a good job. The overall movie was not bored and able to make the audience to go deeper and the credits goes to the editor obviously.

Another strong fundamental for Maravan is the cast. Kumaresh and Haridass were provided wonderful performance for their roles. Haridass’s villain portray is very much realistic and scary. He deserve a big applause for his outstanding performance and same goes Kumaresh who able to create sympathy among audience. Other than that, Kavitha Thiagarajan also able to bring out a lovely wife and mother character who struggling to bring back her husband from the underground world. On another plot, Denes, Sangeetha, Logan are played well to take charge on entertainment value on the film. Denes and Sangeetha’s short romantic scenes are really support to make the film interesting. On second half, Seelan Manoheran and Pushpa Narayanan entering the screen as cops. Both of them were fit to their roles firmly but the introduction of them is not much establishing in the story especially Seelan’s intro. Seems, they are playing an important role on the second half as a solution; they deserve a strong entry in the film. Other than that, the direction team has done a good job on choosing their cast.

Maravan has a lot of technicians from Chennai who supports a lot on technical part and music. Obviously Malaysian Tamil film industry is in very much beginning level. In this case, it’s healthy to work on collaboration with Chennai technicians to improvise local film standard and it’s a healthy way learn from them. Rather than blaming not using local technicians; take it as a good collaboration to upgrade local film standard and obviously Maravan did that.

Overall, SD Puvanendran and his team deserve a great applause to make such a good film and create a good hope for coming generations. Hopefully, he can maintain and upgrade his expertise on his future projects. Maravan is a very good entry for Malaysian Tamil film industry.

Ambigapathy Review

Official Poster

Ambigapathy is originally a hindi film titled Raanjhanaa. Ambigapathy directed by Anand L. Rai and the original story and screenplay by Himanshu Sharma. Ambigapathy’s lead characters played by Dhanush as Kunthan Shankar, Sonam Kapoor as Zoya Haider, Abhay Deol as Jasjeet Singh Shergill or Akram Zaidi, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Murari,  Swara Bhaskar as Bindiya,  Shilpi Marwaha as Rashmi and many more. This film also as Dhanush’s Bollywood debut and has received huge response from the audiences as well. Ambigapathy produced by Krishika Lulla under Eros International. Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman has composed songs and background scores for Ambigapathy and the album contains total of 9 tracks.

Ambigapathy is about an innocent guy’s feel of love towards a girl at the age of very beginning until teenage. Kunthan (Dhanush) who is a Hindu priest’s son and strongly believed is God Shiva has fallen in love to Zoya (Sona Kapoor) who is a Muslim girl. Zoya parents compelled her to go Delhi for her further studies to separate Zoya from Kunthan. After 8 years, Zoya back to Kaasi and she looks more beautiful than before at her teenage age but she has forgotten everything about Kunthan and love between them. Kunthan still remains his love for Zoya after 8 years and he get sad when Zoya not recognized him. After that, Kunthan successfully recognized himself to Zoya but will accept Kunthan as a friend and help guy only. Kunthan with his childhood friend Murari will do everything for Zoya including stopped her engagement arranged by her parents. At the same time, Kunthan’s another childhood friend Bindiya has crushed on Kunthan. Bindiya has proposed Kunthan to marry her many times but Kunthan reject her just for Zoya. At a time, Kunthan become heart feeling and get angry when Zoya informed Kunthan that she is already felt in love someone at her college. That heart feeling will make Kunthan to take some aggressive decision; making arrangements for his wedding with Bindiya on the same day of Zoya’s wedding. On the day, Kunthan and Murari know that Zoya’s lover Akram Zaidi is one that Muslim but Hindu and his original name is Jasjeet Singh Shergill. Kunthan rushed to Zoya’s house; informed the matter to Zoya in front of crowd. Zoya’s wedding has stopped due to this cast issue. Zoya’s relatives hit Jasjeet Singh terribly and make him admitted at hospital in serious condition. Due to thus controversial, Kunthan has forgotten his own wedding with Bindhiya. After that, Jasjeet Singh has passed away due to the serious injury. Zoya felt she has lost his life and joined with her college friends to enroll their political party AICP which was Jasjeet Singh’s dream to make a better politics at Delhi. After that, Kunthan also has joined with them as a tea guy and this was hated by Zoya. What is the story after that; at last how Kunthan’s life has transformed; Are  Kunthan and Zoya will get together at last, that is the story about.

Ambigapathy has reveals a beautiful love in the screenplay but it was very painful love. Kunthan has sacrificed his own life for his love which happened at very beginning of age.  This type of love is very rare to happen at current time rather than not logic. The female audiences have denied the storyline because it shows only guys remembers the past and stay strong in love. Kunthan never explored his life outer than Kaasi so this makes him to not forget Zoya but Zoya has explored her life to Delhi which can make her to change and think different. Another different in the story is the character of Jasjeet Singh, normally the character of Jasjeet Singh will be shown as villain or evil characteristic but Himanshu Sharma has also revealed that character as a good hearted. The man Kunthan met near Ganga river who gave an simple but very meaningful clarification about life and peoples sins is like an miracle on Kunthan's life. That particular man has changed Kunthan's direction like an guru and this shows spiritual believe of the writer and director. Some more, Oliyaage Vanthaai  song really suits for that particular part. Director Anand L. Rai has showed the life of Kaasi very beautiful with many colorful locations and characteristic with the colourful sense cameraman Natarajan Subramaniam. All the cast has performed amazingly. Dhanush has given a wonderful debut to Bollywood. Same goes to Sonam Kapoor, also given good debut to Tamil industry seems this film has dubbed in Tamil. Hemal Kothari has edited without give up the feel of the film and also every particular scene. John Mahendran's dialogues really reflects every scenes emotion very well especially Kunthan's heart feeling. Lyrics penned by Vairamuthu, added more beauty for the songs with lovely words Ambigapthy and Raanjhanaa are suitable title for this film because both are epic lovable couple seems this type of love very rare to happen in current time.

Another ultimate support for the film is AR Rahman’s musicals. Most of the songs are top of the chart and help to move the story more smoothly with add on more feels like the salt in a cooking. Each of the songs brought unique feeling, Paarkathey Oru Maathiri (Aise Na Dekho) brings a blues feel which really suitable for that particular scene. Also Oliyaage Vanthaai (Piya Milenge), is very lovely energetic.

Ambigapathy is distributed by Eros International. The total budget of the film is US$6.0 million and the film able to collect the cost on the first week of release.

Official Poster

Epic is an animated feature film directed by Chris Wedge based on William Joyce's children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs.  Epic is one of the biggest animated films in the year 2013 which took huge amount of time since 2006. This film was produced by Blue Sky Studios and it is noticeable that Chris Wedge is the co-founder of Blue Sky Studios and he directed this film for Fox Animation. Epic’s screenplay by William Joyce who originally narrated it as a children story. Epic included outstanding 3D animations and also contents eco-friendly lessons which can be an entertainment film for all type of people from children to matured people.

Epic is basically is about tiny people living in forest like soldiers to protect the forest from being destroy by the baddies. Professor Bomba is the one researching about the tiny people for many years to get solid evidence about the tiny people. Professor Bomba has a daughter, Mary Katherine. MK came back to her father Professor Bomba after so long to ask her father to stop all his researches because MK initially won’t believe Professor’s Bomba ideology that tiny people are living in the forest.  The whole story starts to begin when the Queen of the forest, Tara begin to shrink the pod. Joyce William brought out eco-friendly lessons via this story; the important of protecting the forest seems forests are being destroyed due to development crisis at current time. The leader of Boggans, Mandrake representing the irresponsible people in real world who willing to kill the mother nature to get wealthier life. Bufo the bullfrog symbolizing the selfish investors in the business world and they willing to anything to keep on standing in the market. Another impressive thought brought by Joyce William when the Nod tells the leafman name Professor Bomba as Stomper to MK, that bring a realization to the audiences that they must conscious about tiny livings when they doing an activity like walking or running to make sure do not hurt the tiny livings which usually never bothered in the real life.

The casts are impressively done their jobs, most importantly their voice for dub.  The casts are Colin Farrell as Ronin, Josh Hutcherson as Nod, Amanda Seyfried as Mary Katherine, Christoph Waltz as Mandrake, Aziz Ansari as Mub, Chris O'Dowd as Grub, Pitbull as Bufo, Jason Sudeikis as Professor Bomba, Steven Tyler as Nim Galuu, Beyoncé Knowles as Queen Tara, Blake Anderson as Dagda and many more. Vishwaroopam Review

Vishwaroopam is Kamal sir’s latest flick. Vishwaroopam was written and directed by Kamal sir. The film cast by Kamal Haasan as Viswanath and Kashmiri, Pooja Kumar as Dr. Nirupama, Rahul Bose as Omar, Andrea  Jeremiah as Ashmita, Shekar Kapur as Indian Officer and uncle and many others. Vishwaroopam is a story about Indian Army officer who initially get into al – Qaeda terrorist group at Afghanistan as detector to reveal their activities and plans; later on settled down in New York to prevent the city from major bomb blast planned by terrorist. How they going to prevent New York and that’s the story is about.

Kamal sir penned this story after his research to get the fact especially about the al – Qaeda training and their environment at Afganistan and also about the chemical such as cesium which related to bomb designing. Kamal sir also really concern about Muslim religion in this film that the script should not bring negative thoughts about the religion to the audience. The screenplay is really interesting and fast without any draggy; this adds points to the film by make sure the audience never feel boring. As usual, very less direct lessons in the film but Kamal sir has explored many indirect lessons to audiences like value of a life and also about dreams of children who living with terrorist. Vishwaroopam story line is designed very well without any splits or out of topic sequence; from beginning to end the story moves on same track and that’s a big advantage to impress the audiences.

Sanu John Varghese makes his debut as Director of Photography in this film. The visuals of Vishwaroopam are really impressive and impactful. Especially the Afghanistan sequences which shows the warriors fight with American force and fill with gun shots and rocket and bomb blasts. For sure the John Varghese has put more effort to make such visuals. All the fight sequences has captured amazingly with detailed movement. Other than that, car chasing sequences at climax also gets great applause from the audiences. John Vargese really gave a very good opening to the Tamil cinema via Vishwaroopam.

Mahesh  Narayanan as editor of this film, amazingly created such a wonderful compact. The audiences never feel bored at any scene or sequence and of course this credit goes to the editor. The stunt sequences are showed to the audience very detailed. Some more the flash back scenes were handled very well by Mahesh Narayanan to make sure the audiences never feel confused at any point.

Another major part in Vishwaroopam is the location sets which refer to the Art Director of the film Ilayaraja.  Ilayaraja has done a great job in Vishwaroopam as Art Director. Great credits go to his terrorist environment sets which gave a dessert feeling which comes with sand and dust. It’s really unbelievable that the environment is specially designed for the film because its looks very realistic and original like Afghanistan. All the other sets in film look very firm and suitable to the film; such as Unnai Kandathum Naan song set and the meat factory fight set are really impressive.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy handled songs and background scores for Vishwaroopam. It’s noted that Kamal sir’s previous big release Aalavanthan also scored music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. All the tracks are nice and suitable for the subject. All the tracks come along with screenplay and Unnai Kandathum Naan song visualized with choreography. Vishwaroopam song comes Viswanath intro song really add credits to the film. The background scores and sound FX are wonderful especially for the fight sequences. Anu Vidaitha Boomiyile song is very truly; even the song not used fully in the film but still the song gave the heart fully feeling when listening it with the film especially with the warriors death sequences and never the less, the song contains very deep lessons.

All the characters are played well by the casts. Rahul Bose really performed well as villain in Vishwaroopam. He handled his character very realistic and it’s noticeable that the character is heavy with some disability and Rahul Bose brought that well. Pooja Kumar makes her debut in Indian cinema via Vishwaroopam as Dr. Nirupama and she successfully gave what ever the character needs. Shekar Kapur, Andrea Jeremiah and all others really gave life to their characters and this credits also goes to Kamal sir as the director of the film and this review is not qualified enough write about Kamal sir’s performance, just can say it’s simply awesome as usual. It’s noticeable that Hollywood Stunt Director Lee Whittaker has roped I for this film.

Vishwaroopam produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Chandra Haasan been as producer for Vishwaroopam. PVP Films as distributer for this film. Vishwaroopam is a milestone for Indian cinema and should appreciate Kamal’s sir effort and his creativity for this film. Whatever struggles comes against Vishwaroopam, still the film is a great success.

Neethane En Ponvasantham Review

Official Poster

Neethane En Ponvasantham, latest flick by Director Gautham Vasudev Menon sir after his Nadunissi Naaygal. Neethane En Ponvasantham is a romantic drama genre film which exposed the urban teenagers love and their life style. Neethane En Ponvasantham cast by Jiiva as Varun, Samantha as Nithya, Santhanam as Prakash and Vidyullekha Raman as Jenny. This story penned by Reshma Ghatala; M. S Prabhu and Om Prakash handled camera; Music provided by Maestro Ilayaraja sir and Screenplay and Direction by Gautham sir. Neethane En Ponvasantham narrating a long sweet love experience from being childhood friends until becomes a matured couple and how the couple facing the conflicts caused by their misunderstandings and egoistic characteristic itself.

Gautham sir moves on this story with realistic with what usually will happen between couples. He also described the egoistic character which usually seems not less at urban boys and girls. Varun and Nithya always arguing each other and at last that will bring a big gap between them because of their egoistic which not allowing tolerant at all. Even that scene repeating in film in all different ages but still it’s never feel so draggy or bored because that’s obviously happened among the couples nowadays, so it seems very realistic. Never the less, that will also help nowadays couples to realize what they have done to their partner so far and what they should not do after this. This information is worth to mention in this review seems the film’s caption is ‘This could be your love story’ and obviously that will be for most of the couples who have seen the film. Furthermore, Gautham sir gave extra important to Nithya’s role in this film which means he gave attention to girls’ point of view for certain conflicts in relationship. Gautham sir also clearly has revealed the guys point of view in a relationship; especially when Varun realize that he must play his part to upgrade his family status as a very important responsible towards his parents and this realization usually will come to boys after 21 years old and usually will be the reason for most of the break-up nowadays. Big scale changes will happen to girls in case of outlook, attire, attitude once they enter into age of 23 and above and they will look very new and beautiful when appear suddenly after long gap and this will usually happen; Gautham sir has showed that also via Santhanam and Jenny relationship and that scene successfully get huge response from audience because ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ concept which applied on their character just for humor reason. Gautham sir still applied some ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ style in his ‘Neethane En Ponvasantham’ even this two film has their own screenplay; Varun dialogue to Nithya when she leave to overseas for holiday, ‘Yenneku ange terinje ponnu irukka…. Avale konjam seekiram vare sollu… Inge oruthe avale rombe miss pannuranu sollu’, which actually meant to Nithya is similar with Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya climax scene when Karthik and Jessy at a park in United State and the dialogues comes like this; ‘Aama irukka… Ave nadakkum pothu oru maari sirippa irukkum… Innum ave tha irukka en vaalkaiyile… Ave peru Jessy’. Gautham sir beautifully showed how the egoistic character in a person brings loses for a person especially in relationship. Same goes to Gautham sir’s Minnale; a marriage scene become a climax in Minnale and same goes to Neethane En Ponvasantham. Reema will make last minute decision in Minnale and for Neethane En Ponvasantham, Varun made the last minute decision. Additionally, Gautham sir really rocks with his voice by singing the evergreen Neethane En Ponvasantham song from Ninaivelam Nithya film for Varun character. Well known that Gautham sir always got never less interest in music and he always move on with music and obviously that’s make him to lend his voice for this film.

In case of cast, Jiiva and Samantha really gave their best for this film. Jiiva really adapted the Varun character for this film. Seems there are more close up shots for Jiiva, he has brought the emotion to his face for all the scenes especially during argument between Varun and Nithya. Jiiva has performed very naturally and the dialogue deliveries are with the real flow. Jiiva as Gautham sir’s Varun, beautifully performed the romantic sequences with Nithya such as conversation inside car before the first kiss and argument scene with Nithya at Tsunami Colony. At the other hand, Samantha also exposed the Nithya character extra-ordinarily. Seems Gautham sir gave more important for girl’s point of view in this film, Samantha has made great effort for this film and that obviously seen in the film. Especially for argument scenes, Samantha really brought Nithya’s emotion, feelings and frustration on his face with tears which really create great impact among audience. Moreover, Samantha herself did dubbing for Nithya’s role and that’s also awesome because Samantha successfully brought in the tears into her voice also. There was huge different in Nithya’s outlook also according to age character which actually meant to Samantha's hard work towards this film. On other part, Santhanam also plays Prakash role very well in the film and as usual his timing dialogues really make audience to laugh for maximum. Other than comedy, Santhanam also plays an important role in this film as Varun’s close friend Prakash which accompanied and helped Varun to overcome his conflicts in his relationship with Nithya. Same goes to Vidyullekha Raman, plays a cute plus important role in film. Even a new comer, she successfully gets audience applause.

M.S Prabhu and Om Prakash as Director of Photographers have provided very good visuals for the film. The color tone successfully brought audience back to 80’s. Many long take in this film and of course the credits goes to DOP’s and actors who effort to make it. Especially the argument scenes at age of 20th at house roof port because that was a bit long argument when Varun told Nithya that he have to go to Kerala and Gautham sir successfully made it in one long take. Of course this credit goes to DOP’s because they have done it with beautiful camera movement. Without forgetting, this credit goes to Jiiva and Samantha also because they successfully made the long scene with constant emotion and body language. Gautham sir’s imagination has been beautifully captured by the DOP’s. Tsunami Colony shots and climax kissing shots are really awesome with sunlight.

Isaigani Ilayaraja sir brilliantly provides music for the film according to the needs. All the songs are superb and that’s really suits with the situation of scene in film. Raja sir’s background score as usual make audience to go deeper into the scene. Vaanam Melle song really amazing with  visuals and Raja sir’s voice and moreover his climax conflict humming for Nithya was amazing.

Neethane En Ponvasantham, a film for destroy ego between relationship and of course a film to experience beautiful love and romance. Neethane En Ponvasantham produced by  Reshma Ghatala, Venkat Somasundaram, Elred Kumar, Jayaram, Gautham Menon sir under RS Infotainment and Photos Kathas Production.

Thuppakki Movie review

Official Poster

Thuppakki is Director A.R. Murugadoss sir’s latest flick after 7-aam Arivu. Thuppakki is how a military man solving a major bomb blasting mission of sleeper cells in Mumbai by his own efforts and applying his intelligent in this mission.  Thuppaki cast Vijay, Kajal Agarwal, Satyan, Vidyut Jamwal, Jayaram and many more. One of India’s leading cinematographer come director, Santosh Sivan sir handled camera for this film. Harris Jayaraj as Director A.R. Murugadoss’s pair as always scored music for Thuppaki. Editor A. Sreekar Prasad handled cuttings.

Director A. R. Murugadoss sir has written this story very interestingly, how an army man will think and how he will handle a conflict. Some more, the director screen played this film like puzzle which going one by one. The sequence has their continuity one to another and don’t have any jumping sequences. Jagdish start his mission with only one sleeper cell which found at bus and how he destroying the whole sleeper cell network with having only one sleeper cell as clue is the entire story about. But still there are very few scenes has less logics in the film; Jagdish has request ex- army officers who became disable during wars to prepare a plastic explosion at the climax but why he need to ask the favor to them?; but still it’s understandable that the director trying to reveal the sacrifices of the indian army officers towards the country in that sequences. Other than that, the climax fight scene also less logic; Jagdish ask the villain to untie him and the villain also did that to show how his manly daring which very heroism and usually happen in Tamil cinema.

Cinematographer come director, Santhosh Sivan has handled camera very well for Thuppakki. Night sequences lighting very firm especially the table talk scene with blue and red lighting make the scene livelier. Also the fighting sequences has captured more creatively. Santhosh Sivan sir has visualized all the songs amazingly. Vennilave Tharaiyil song’s visual is really impressive; the location add more credits for the song; the shots are amazing with sun light especially in front of lake view shot Vijay dancing on the bench is beautiful with sunlight effects. Alaika Laika song’s gold tone is very nice which gave a rich look for the visual. Kutti Puli Kootam song’s visual is very colorful and give a fresh look for the audience. Google google song’s shots are creative with lighting. Director A. R. Murugadoss sir and Santhosh Sivan sir came on screen for this song is really cool.

Another part, Harris Jayaraj has scored songs and background scores for Thuppakki. All the songs are super hit for now. Google Google, sung by Vijay became very catchy. Harris Jayaraj’s background score add credit for many scenes. The theme music seems keep on repeating many times; even Jagdish theme music but it will more nice if the theme music played in many version according to the sequences. As always Harris songs become hit and will rule for few months and that’s also applicable for Thuppakki songs.

Thuppakki is an action- thriller with romantic film. Satyan also played an important role in this film as Jagsdish’s close friend. Even Satyan make few comedy sequences with story but still he played a heavy role in this film. Actor Vijay has contributed his best to this film and for sure he will rise more if he being choosy to his story with less of heroism. At last, Director A. R. Murugadoss make this film as his dedication to Indian Army. Thuppakki  produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and distributed by Gemini Film Circuit.

Maattrraan Movie Review

Official Poster

Maattrraan is a combination of action and science – fiction genre. A KV Anand film after his super hit film ‘Ko’. Maattrraan is about conjoining twins Vimalan and Agilan who love each other very much but having different mentality; one were killed in a fight and the story begins once another one start to find the truth behind his brother’s dead. As always, KV Anand has put effort to explore new technologies in visual quality in his Maattrraan also. Maattrraan script also got minimum similarity with KV Anand’s ‘Kanaa Kanden’; creating scientific formula to get a new liquid product. Surya did double roles as Vimalan and Agilan in this film; Kajal Agarwal as Anjali.

Maattrraan is a good concept taken by KV Anand. Touching social issues is also his style to make the script more realistic and logic and also to create social awareness among the audience; Thailand’s conjoining twins issue was very famous few years back. Another part, producing poisoned children milk also was very hot issue at China few years back. So, creating social awareness in films is KV Anand style as always for an example, youth politics in Ko; method of international smugglers and the effects in Ayan. At that part, Maattrraan is very good social awareness film which talks about poisoned children milk, producing by some company for their own benefits. At the same time, nowadays parents also easily get influence by this kind of products just to make sure their kids perform well in short term period which really effect coming generation.

First part of the film makes the audience to understand the subject. KV Anand as a good twist maker purposely showed some characters oppositely to the audience. The Ukvania journalists Volga showed like spy and brings negative influence which actually not. Same things goes Energion milk powder owner Ramakrishna (Surya’s father). Another big twist in this film is what were happened to the conjoining twins, Vimalan and Agilan and Agilan’s self-transformation is another big plus point in the screenplay.

At the second part, the script needed more action sequence to create more impact to the audience. Agilan’s easy enter inside Ukvania’s army territory were less of logics. An army territory always surrounded with tight security system but Agilan easily crossed them and pulled down some of their soldiers. The team should include some large scale action sequences in this scene to create more logics and also to bring the climax impact to the audience. ‘Kaal Mulaithe Poove’ song and also Agilan’s romantic scenes with Anjali at second part is unnecessary at that point; those sequences destroying Agilan eagerness to find the truth; also allow the audience to come out from the screenplay temperature which is not good.

Director of Photography of the film S. Sounder Rajan has done a great job. His shots gave fresh feeling to the audience. S. Sounder Rajan as KV Anand’s assistant before should get his full guide to be succeed. The climax fighting shots was very impact. Most importantly, should have put extra effort make the conjoining twins scenes because that needs very good camera works to create very firm VFX over the shots. Song visualization and the location selection was wonderful especially ‘Naani Koni’ song; KV Anand frequently like to choose mount top locations. At VFX site, Indian Artist has contributed very good work for Maattrraan especially the conjoining twins shots in same frame; the scenes looks very firm and realistic. He used Performance Capture Technology as basis to show both Suriya’s acting and motions in same frame. VFX Supervisor, Srinivasan Mohan as one of the famous VFX creator in India, really support a lot to make sure Indian films especially Tamil films keep on improving visually and also technically.

Harris Jayaraj music and background scores really makes the audience to go along with the story. ‘Rettai Kathirey’ as intro song is cream of the cake in this album. Maattrraan is creating social awareness in entertain coming action form. Maattrraan  is produced  by AGS Entertainment and distributed by Eros International.

I wrote this review to share my views towards the movie and also to improve my film knowledge. Please forgive me if you feel I have written something wrong. Thank You.
